Join the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, May 2-6
4/21/2022
OSHA has dedicated May 2-6 as Fall Prevention week and is hosting a number of events to emphasize the National Safety Stand-down to
Prevent Falls in Construction.
Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees. A Safety Stand-Down is a
voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety, and the first week in May is dedicated to preventing falls in the workplace. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on "Fall Hazards" and reinforcing the importance of "Fall
Prevention." Employers of companies whose employees may not be exposed to fall hazards, can also use this opportunity to have a conversation with employees about the other job hazards they face, protective methods, and the company's safety policies and goals.
Perhaps there is an event planned at a site where your crews are working that you can attend. Or maybe you plan on hosting a Fall
Stand Down. If so, consider inviting me to attend or if you need help – I can do that too! Remember, our OnSite Consultation services are free and confidential – so reach out for any of your safety needs.
